Teaching Practice - Phase 1(9th week)

Last week.. Just 5 more days. At first it was difficult to come here, but now its difficult to go. Feeling a little emotional. Today informed my students that I will be there only for 5 more days... Went for observation in 8 E, where Naseeha was conducting achievement test. Didn't had any hour, but got substitution in 8A and distributed the achievement test papers. Marks are ok... Many of the children from class were there for kalolsavam and as a result they couldn't attend many classes.
Later went for peer observation in 8 D, viji's class... Decided to teach a child of our class malayalam, and gave him a two line book and taught the letters.

The whole school now knew that we all were going and they all requested us not to go. Actually, this was what I wanted as a teacher. I had a lot of inspirations for becoming a teacher since childhood and now I am happy that i am also in that path.
Morning went for peer observation in Naseeha's class.
20/11/2024 (Wednesday)
All are busy with their achievement test, diagnostic test and innovative works. During first hour went for diagnostic test observation with Naseeha and during 5th hour went with Viji. During second hour I conducted my diagnostic test. Later, during 4th hour I took my innovative lp. I prepared it in the form of cartoon video-dorayude prayanam. Children were excited when the entry song was played. They all were interested in listening and eager to answer the questions in between.
21/11/2024 (Thursday)
Just one more days left. During noon, we went for serving food. Its a really nice, because there we get to interact with a lot of children.Then in the 5th hour, payasam was distributed to children. We split into groups and worked with teachers to serve payasam to students. Everyone was so happy and they were asking more. All liked it very much. We also felt so happy seeing their happiness. Got three hours of class today and took the last lesson plan during one hour. Then took the remedial classes for children. They felt so happy that, I noticed their difficult areas and taught them. Actually they don't know simple basic operations in mathematics. It may be due to corona, that the classes were online. Then I showed them my innovative work-Identity Quiz Board. They were so excited that everyone came to do it. I also felt so happy. During interval also, many of them to me and did it. Went for peer observing viji's class. She took the innovative lp. She prepared the properties of quadrilaterals in the form of western songs and sang it. It was so interesting that children listened it carefully.

Last day.... It was emotional. It felt difficult to say good bye to everyone. Got two hours class today. Took remedial classes. Then gave small gifts to the ones who got good marks for achievement test. 5 of us from college were in the school in 5 different classes. We all, together went to each class and distributed ladoo to everyone and took photos. Many of them were so emotional. Naseeha's students of 8E asked me also to come in their class during their class hour. I thought there will be surprise for Naseeha and I was taking a video, but suddenly I noticed that they have written my name also in the blackboard, saying that they will miss us. During lunch break, we went to the aunty, who makes tasty lunch everyday. I really should compliment the food as its superb and so tasty. We gave her a small gift and she was emotional seeing it. She blessed us to get jobs soon. Then, During last interval we distributed ladoo for all teachers in high school and higher secondary and also to the non teaching staffs. They all blessed us to get jobs soon and be successful in both career and life. Later gave a small gift to our respective subject teachers and HM and took photos with them. At 3:30PM, there was a send off function conducted for us by the teachers. They all congratulated us for the works we have done, participating in school activities, handling children and behaving very well in school. Some of them shared their experiences and adviced us that we should choose this profession only if we love it, otherwise don't. Later, they gave us opportunity to talk and we shared our experiences. I was a little emotional as i got attached to every children. Everyone, ie, students from not only my class, but also from every class came to me and told me not to go and they will miss me. Some of them gave me small gifts. It was a good and wonderful experience. Today, i finally realised that my decision to become a teacher was the best and correct one. My family, even though they supported me now, but at first they all were against this decision. I fought against them and follow my dream. Finally we said goodbye to all and left.
